K4 – Cardboard Boxes
K4 refers to recyclable cardboard boxes that are free from contaminants like soil, oil, and wax. These boxes are collected, sorted, and processed into new cardboard products or other products, reducing the need for virgin materials. K4 materials are some of the most sought-after recyclables in the country

HL1 – White Paper
HL1 consists of white printed or unprinted sheets and shavings from printers or office records. This grade must be free of heavily printed or coloured stock and non-water-soluble adhesives. Recycling HL1 paper helps conserve resources and reduces environmental pollutants. Companies process HL1 materials and transform them into new paper products.

CMW – Common Mixed Waste Paper
CMW is a mixture of various grades of paper and board without restriction on fiber content. This includes materials like takeaway drink cups, tissues, and non-corrugated cardboard. While it's the lowest valuable grade, recycling CMW prevents waste from ending up in landfills. Numerous companies accept CMW for recycling.

PET
PET Clear, PET Green, and PET Brown plastics are fundamental to South Africa’s recycling and waste management solutions. PET Clear, common in water and soft drink bottles, is processed into high-quality fibers and containers. PET Green, used for specific beverage packaging, and PET Brown, found in specialty containers, undergo advanced recycling procedures that reduce environmental impact. These processes promote eco-friendly waste solutions, sustainable recycling services, and support circular economy initiatives across the country.

HD
High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) is an essential recyclable plastic in South Africa, including both HD White and HD Mix variants. HD White, often found in milk bottles and cleaning containers, is recycled into durable products like irrigation pipes and shopping bags. HD Mix, comprising various coloured containers from detergents and cosmetics, undergoes rigorous recycling to create high-quality materials. Together, these HD options contribute significantly to waste management and eco-friendly waste solutions.

LD
Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) is widely used in flexible packaging in South Africa, including both LD Clear and LD Mix options. LD Clear, commonly found in packaging films and consumer wrappers, is recycled into products like bin liners and construction film. LD Mix, consisting of various coloured films such as grocery and trash bags, is processed through advanced recycling techniques. These LDPE variants support sustainable waste management and eco-friendly waste solutions across the country.
